(LEHIGHTON, PA 8-11-10) The cards are ready to be reshuffled and a whole new hand is set to be played out in the popular Mahoning Valley Speedway 7 Card Stud Poker Series this coming Saturday night, August 14 starting at 6:00 pm.

Hand Three will be another of the famous Mahoning 100-lappers for the Modifieds which pays $3000 to win and just as important are the cards that will be handed out at the conclusion of the feature.

At the end of each Poker Race the top 13 finishers will receive a card all from the same suit starting with an ace going to the winner and so on. The suit, clubs, spades, hearts or diamonds, will be picked at the end of each feature by the winner.

Drivers must attempt to qualify in all five 100-lappers to be eligible for the $5000 jackpot that is divvied amongst the top three hands which pays $2500, $1500 & $1000 respectively.

Thus far Earl Paules has the hot hand with a pair of Aces as the ‘Palmerton Powerhouse’ has won the last two poker races, Hand 2 as well as the most recent 35-lapper.

John Markovic has a pair of Queens. 2009 poker champ Brian DeFebo heads into Saturday night’s event with a pair of 7’s. Eric Beers is also looking good as he is working on a straight with a King, Jack and 10.

Time trials will lock in the top 12 which will then be inverted for the main. All others will run in heats and consolations.

Mahoning’s Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Modifieds and Pro4 Late Models will all run regular features.

The final 35 lap poker race will be run on Saturday night, August 28. Sepetmeber 11 and October 2 are the remaining 100-lap poker races.
