Is the fig8 time limit shorter then the chargers?? It sure seemed the charger race was a heluva lot longer then the 8's but not nearly as good a race.

Maggio doesnt even know whos leading the race. I asked him why was my dad put to the back...he says cause i felt like it. good answer right? not!!!

then when my father goes up there he tells my dad he wasnt even leading...my dad said what race were you watching? i was so leading. Then to see maggios dumb look on his face like oh you were leading?
this guy should never be able to officiate another race everrrrrrrrrrr in his life.

since when is a fig 8 race 18 minutes? maybe he had to get home to his pornos.

How long the cromartys gonna wait to do something before they lose anymore drivers?:mad::mad:

The guy is a moron and knows nothing about racing, someone needs to be on the ramp and make the right calls , i thought steve would make a difference but after last night i realized i was wrong. After terrible calls in almost all the races i waited on line for an explanation, he is as bad to talk to as jim is. Its sad to think that a great track like this is going to come to an end cause they can make consistent calls even if he wasnt the leader the race before that the same thing happened and no call was made, why cant the calls just be consistent for everyone and may the best driver win instead of jim having a power trip and ruining peoples nights by making INCONSISTENT calls every damn week! If nothing else he will go down in history as the reason racing ended on longisland im sure that he will be proud of that !:disgusted:disgusted:disgusted:disgusted:disguste d:disgusted:disgusted:disgusted:disgusted

The only thing I care about is that a good f8 race was brewing (7-8 laps non stop) and all the newbies in the rarely packed stands where really enjoying what f8 racing is all about when sure as sh&t here comes a yellow, I don't even know for what, maybe debris?? So on the ensueing restart another yellow and then the race is over??? I heard the yellow was because the 28 jumped the start, I don't know, was too close for my poor eyesight but what ever, is their only 1 guy making decisions? Can't the scorers make some input to the officials or is it official?????
Just to play devils advocate it's not a perfect world, f*ck, I'm so dumb I thought it was a NEW fence the track put up, damn I thought, thank god the track thought about safety for the fans, oh well they just painted it but holy sh*t, lets rip them a new as*hole for toooo much glare, do you think they REALLY thought that far ahead?????????
Lets just hope the track keeps trying and WE keep having a track!!

Who wants an extra week if it is more of the inconsistent and uninformed calls .
Like the ones made last night in he 18 min figure 8 race. Heck the F8 drivers waited lined up that long for the caution during lap 6 of the charger race.
All I can say is, this is no way to run a race track.

Even with my son ending up with the win, I still think that was a Bull $h!t call!! Leah you are 100% right with everything you said!! That's why we weren't there for the last race. Jim is the WORST OFFICIAL Ever!! He thinks he is WAY above everybody else, and doesn't need to give any reason as to why he made any call!! Even if you ask a question during the race, he's the same way. After the race he can't and wouldn't change his call!! I was really shocked to find out he went to see a tape (or whatever) to make the call in the Modifieds.
As far as the 18 mins. I heard that was the Cromartys call, Which I don't think was fair!! The Figure 8 drivers and crews pay the same money to get into the track as everyone else, sit and wait all day to race and the have to deal with CCK (car count killer, Jim)!! And I think that they made that call because of the Chargers race took so long, so screw the Figure 8 guys to make up for the time. And I thought it was one of the better Figure 8 races in a long time!!
I think Jim is digging his hole by him self, last week during the enduros he started the races without an Ambulance, the track had to call 911 to have Riverhead Ambulance come, I'm sure that will be a big deal when those bills come in.
Like I said I am Very Happy my son won, but on a Totally wrong call isn't fair!!

this probably belongs in the other thread, maybe rgee can purge these two posts back to there but on that topic, it's not a minor issue. i've heard complaints from a lot of drivers, and most importantly this week the spotters. at least last week part of the front straightaway and the entire pit stands area was still unpainted, then after a week of complaints the finished the job practically blinding the spotters of turn 2 and early backstretch.

surprised there hasn't been more uproar yet.

WOW!!! We haven't been out to the track for some time now. Paul isn't missing much by the looks of what is going on. Lousy racing calls, just plain lousy racing with the weekly wreck fests of equipment... no thanks.

I'll keep our car in one piece(it is in Florida currently sleeping). When the officiating gets better some may come back, but not the way it is now. Actually, I'm surprised a few more of you haven't left.

As for wanting extra race dates..WHY?... only if the officiating had a major end-of-season over-haul.
Right now... my thoughts and comments are better left unsaid!! I'm not even having a car on the track and it's upsetting to watch!!

Even Dor is upset with the calls and she has the winning car at home. You guys are all correct... something needs to be done with the officiating. The question is, what and how to get it done to benefit every division?

I honestly think its B.S ask anyone i am the first one to back the track up i love the track and would hate to see it go but if they don't get rid of Maggio i think we will not have racing much longer.... That call was just nonsense 28 did not jump the start clearly in person and in videos you can see this i just think they have a hard on for the 28 car and don't like him winning.... I love watching Roger race i have for years... I am not a family member and honestly I've never even had a conversation with the man so I'm not biased but the guy is good he works on his car more then most of you work in a week and it shows when he hits the track! Also they cut the races down to 15 laps pretty much so the 28 cant charge through the field and win.. that's B.S i love fig 8's and 15 laps isnt enough for good racing in that division if anything give them 25 laps and have the last 10 be awesome with the 28 34 3 58 13 all fighting it out to the finish i think both the drivers and fans would benefit from such good racing! and as for the 18 min race yeah guess they wanted to get those fireworks going so they rushed everyone....:disgusted
Like i said i love Riverhead Raceway and hope its around for my children and grandchildren to race at but with officiating like it has now i just don't know... get rid of this bonehead and it would solve a lot of problems and make everyone much happier at the races...

Well if the track owners (as rumor has it) called the race and MADE the head official make the call to say the 28 jumped the start just for a reason the end the race and get the show moving along, should'nt WE be mad with the owners??? If this was factual and true, then the head official is just a scapegoat right?? Nobody will know but regardless it was a good f8 race, maybe because the f8s had the smallest car count on this night the track felt they should get the yank?? It's a sh$tty thing to do but maybe it was a business move to get the whole show in before curfew. I feel bad for the f8 guys.

Even if the owner made the call to get the Figure 8's done, Jim as cheif steward should have let the race go till the next flag that was dropped, caution or checkered!! Not make a Bull $h!t call!!
And like I said yes my son made out on that call but it doesn't mean I think it was a fair call. Both of our cars got Screwed the last time we raced and that's way we missed a week!! And with Jim still being allowed to make the calls the car counts will be going down real fast!!

that had to be the worst call i have ever seen for jumping a start, they were side by side when they crossed the starting line there . it looks like it was also one of the better races too, it was a 2 car battle for the lead and a 3 car battle for second until it looked like the 34 dumped the 16. now that call i would have understood if the 34 was black flagged but not the 28 for jumping the start there and then to end the race. what was maggios' problem that night anyway , to be he couldnt be black flagged.

roger didnt jump the restart bottom line and if anyone is going to comment on it i think im the best person to say it being i was there twice. would have been happy with a 2nd 3rd or 4th place finish if the call was different. why maggio did what he did i dont know but crying about it on the computer isnt going to do anything.

Kenny you should be the last one to talk about crying ok.... wtf happened to being able to voice an opinion? You do plenty of voicing your opinion ....does anything ever get done about what people say on here ? does anything ever change ? No!!!! it doesn't. But when something like what happened on Saturday happened it should be heard.

Instead of this one calling that one to call that one and this one to tell them they shouldn't write things on the jam or facebook. Tell the person yourself or better yet obviously the track looks at the jam, Why don't they do something about things that have happened or not have happened or take some of the advice that has been posted through out the jam and fix the problem of whatever it may be....but they dont even try.

The sad thing is ...is that they let this guy hurt their own business. Barrasso will not be sponsoring a race any longer. Why sponsor something anyway when not even a quarter of that money goes into the payout for the night. Sure it isn't the 1st sponsor they lose or the last.

There was talk a bout making the curfew .
Our car was back at the trailer before 8:25. How would this race going to the 30 minute time limit have effected the curfew anyway?
That race was shaping up to be one of the best Figure 8 races of the season. Cutting the race short robbed the fans of what they payed for.
