Roger Maynor returns to the world championship

Roger once again returns to the World Championship.
Thanks to Speedrome promoter Joel Cohen.
We were made an offer that we could not refuse.
This years offer was a little bit sweeter then last years.
And with the unfortunate turn of events this year , not being in the chase for the track championship made it a little easy to decide to make the trip.
We are in no way turning our backs on Riverhead raceway, And are going to Indy to do our best to represent our home track.
The 28 racing team wishes the best of luck to all the teams ,And congratulations to who ever takes the track championship.

useing the figure 8 lower end , dart 2 heads, headers, 4 barrel, small cluth.
We will still be underpowered.
But we fall into a super stock division within this race, paying $5,000 to win.
So we can finish top 20 and get a good super stock finish, and get 2 payouts.
It will be fun , And a once in a life time opportunity.

UPDATE: so dad started 20th in qualifying. running 4th he got hit and spun...broke bracket of rear....another driver offered his shop to fix it and after 1am everything is fixed but dont know if car will be the same.

gonna try to qualify again today!

Dad would like to thank Jack Dossey and crew number 20 for opening up his house to them to use their shop. If it wasn't for them dad wouldn't be able to run today!! so a big thank you to you guys!

We are back from the Speedrome
Roger did a great job.
Less then a a half a second off the super stock best time.
We worked our way past a ton of damage.
Got a lot of help from the Jack Dossey jr crew.
Roger did a great job of running with the late model figure cars that were 600 pounds lighter then us.
Started 20th out of 22 cars in the super stock qualifier, and was up to 4 th in just 5 or 6 laps, but ripped the third link out of the car.
Repaired that to start as 4th alternate in the world championship race around lap 10
Got wrecked again, fixed that, and finished 21st.
We had enough to run away from the super stocks and run with late models

We had a reporter and photographer from the NY Times follow us around the three days.
We will let you know when to go to NY times .com
You know Roger 21st sucks , But be proud Roger , Be proud
This race is nothing like you ever saw 35 or more years ago.
This race is hard to watch, it is insane lap after lap.
