(LEHIGHTON, PA 9-5-10) The Mahoning Valley Speedway 7 Card Stud Poker Series resumes play this coming Saturday night, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. with Hand 4 of the tournament. The 100 lap feature will pay $3000 to win.
Thus far Earl Paules holds the top poker hand with two pair, Aces and 6’s. Eric Beers is next with a pair of Kings and Jacks followed by Brian DeFebo who is currently holding a pair of 7’s and 5’s.

Other drivers still very much in the hunt include John Markovic with a pair of Queens, Rob Shultz with two 9’s and John Bennett with a pair of 3’s.
Poker cards are earned by feature finishing positions with an Ace to the winner and so on to 13th spot which is a deuce.

The top three drivers with the best poker hand at the conclusion of the series will earn $2500, $1500 and $1000 respectively. Last season that distinction went to DeFebo, Paules and Matt Hirschman.

Drivers must make a qualifying attempt in all five 100 lap poker races in order to be eligible for the jackpot.

Wins thus far have gone to Bobby Jones, Paules and Hirschman in the 100-lappers. This year two 35-lap features where added to the mix as wildcard races and victories there went to Paules and Don Wagner.

Saturday’s format will see time trials taking place which will then lock in the top 12. Those drivers will be inverted for the start. All others will qualify through heats and a consolation.

Also on the card will be the Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro4 Late Models and 4c Super Modifieds.

Mahoning Valley Speedway, run under the direction of the husband and wife team of Doug and Gena Hoffman, is located on PA route 443, two miles west of Lehighton.
