Shangri-La II Motor Speedway's second annual Fall Brawl, postponed by a combination of Mother Nature's weapons-rain and cold- on its original dates of October 2-3, has been rescheduled as a streamlined, one-day event on Saturday, October 16, with the green flag set to wave over the first heat race at 1:00 p.m. All classes scheduled to race under the original two-day format will still be eligible, although the Super Stock and Street Stock features have been combined, and the Legends will have only one main event. Entries filed for the original dates will be valid for the new date.

The centerpiece of the Fall Brawl remains the 100-lap Modified feature. With the other major tour-type Modified events in New York and Pennsylvania already in the books- U.S. Open, Race of Champions, King of the Mountain, and Mahoning Valley's Poker Series- a stellar field of invaders should be on hand to challenge the Shangri-La II regulars for the $3,500 that awaits the winner.

The Sportsman Modifieds and ASA Late Models will both run 50 laps for $1,500 to win. With that kind of money on the line there's no telling who might show up for the afternoon. Zane Zeiner of Bath, Pa., the Race of Champions Sportsman winner, is a possibility in that division, as is Austin Kochenash, the leading winner on the Pennsylvania pavement, in the ASA Late Models. The combined Super Stock/Street Stock 50-lapper, paying $1,200 to the winner, could see Lee Sharpsteen's domination under attack from many quarters. In the Legends, Mike Alcaro will start as the firm favorite as he seeks his fourth win of the season.

The payoffs to the winning drivers are not the only four-digit numbers associated with the Fall Brawl. Thanks to the carry-over of the unclaimed May 16 RoC Series 50-50 jackpot, the October 16 50-50 starts at $1,003 and will grow from there.

Pit gates open for the Fall Brawl at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, with practice at 11:30. Admission is just $15 for adults, with kids 10 and under free. Parking and camping for early arrivals are also free. There will be an open practice session on Friday night, October 15, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. For more information, call 607-330-2622 or visit shangrila-2.com (http://www.shangrila-2.com)
