Anyone interested in a short simracing series?

I have been doing a fair amount of racing on iRacing which is fun, but I would prefer to be beaten by people who live closer to me.
So.
Anyone interested in doing some simracing this fall/winter?
Nothing too serious, more fun then anything.
Maybe 4-6 races, keep it light.
Opinions?

Yes it is Dylan. KARS will have two winter series. Modifieds and trucks.

Which series are we talking about, I might be interested in running the Late Models or Trucks on iRacing in a short track league.

iRacing is tough, if people aren't already a member that is asking for a big investment to get to a Late Model or Modified series.

I was thinking of NR2K3 (or even an earlier version, like Nascar Racing 4), or maybe rFactor. Something where we can run our own server for, and maybe people already have in their collections.

I guess there just isn't the interest in sim racing anymore.

If people are interested, post here, and name your game and we can see what we can do.

There is a ton of interest in iRacing, it's taken sim racing to a whole new level, but I understand what you're getting at, it is very expensive and takes a lot of time.

I personally haven't been able to get nr2k3 to run on my windows 7, haven't played it in month. But it may be worth a shot to try again.

They don't make it anymore, so chances are you're going to have a hard time finding a new one on any big name site like amazon or best buy. There are tons of used and slightly used g25's on ebay if you're willing to take the risk.

Of course if you're willing to drop the big bucks you can always go for the g27, just got myself one and it's great.

nr2k3, rfactor and iRacing, gottem all, so it doesnt matter to me.

There aren't huge differences, I've got a 3 or 4 year old G25 and a G27. The G27 feels much smoother, it has 6 buttons on the wheel rather than two. I believe they fixed some of the quality issues that afflicted the G25. But you can't use the shifter for sequential shifting on the g27, it only has the H pattern, and steering wheel paddles for shifting. It also has a rev indicator on the wheel.

If you find a "like-new" G25 than your better off buying that, but if you buy one that has been heavily used it probably won't last long as these things tend to get beat up a lot, In that case you would have been better of buying a new g27 with a manufacturers garuentee

Feb 15th NASCAR THE GAME 2011 comes out for xbox360 and PS3 its no longer made by crappy EA sports and is supposed to be modeled after the papyrus games like nr2k3 so im reserving my copy for 360 nascarthegame.com for all of the info
