Don't know if it will mean anything or not but Doug did drive the car at Lime Rock when George was hurt.

If I owned the 46 it would be Hirshman. A no-brainer.

I know I will get flack for this but... I don't feel the 46 is a winning car. So I think some guys might hesitiate to take the ride. The car usually runs 8-15 place. I haven't seen that car contend for a win with Beers, Houlihan, Brunnhozell in that car. If a driver wants to be on the tour and race and that's all that matters then some guys might consider this ride. If they want to race to "win" then they might pass on it.

You have to remember there are atleast 12 cars every week that can win on the Whelen Tour. Cant say its only an 8-15 place ride. Thats like saying the 28 or the 10 is. I think the competition is that strong everyweek and you have to have a little lady luck on the side

Well if you go by Beers performance, he had a 9th place point finish in the 76 in 2010 with no top 5's. In 2009 with the 46 Beers had a 8th place point finish with 1 top 5. is this really a difference for Beers? While GBIII was a rookie this season and missed a race w/ injury he still managed atop 5 in the 46.

Would drivers rather drive the 2, 3 or 4. perhaps. Are there better rides out there right now for Hirschman or Coby that they can turn this ride down if offered? Not yet. Also let's not assume the 46 doesn't have someone they want to work with already.

12 cars is a stretch. Three guys won 11 out of 14 races this year. That being said, if there are about 12 cars that win every week and the 10,28 and the 46 aren't one of them doesn't that make them a 8-15 place car?? Especially when you consider the fact that they finished 14th, 16th and 17th in the points with zero wins. As Bill Parcells liked to say, you are what your record says you are.

Hirschman with the 46 would make it a consistant top 5 car I believe. His knowledge of set up would be a big boost to that team. Of course a strong motor
program is a givin.

46 car was on the pole and ran well until he almost hit the pace car @ Riverhead. You put Coby in the car and he'll run the wheels off of it and it'll be a top 5 car! Doug I think is one of the most under rated drivers on the tour. Look what he did with the 0 car at Stafford and Loudon. And look what he did with the 52 at Thompson, If there wasn't mechanical failures, He could have had 1 to 3 wins, with cars that are usually a 8-15 place car. Oh and I forgot his run at Thompson in the 92, and His run in the 12 at Loudon!! What other cars did he drive this season??? LOL.....I honestly though wouldn't be surprised to see him in the 52 especially the way he ran at the world series if wayne decides to run a full season next year.
