View Full Version : Champions Honored at 7th Annual NEETS Awards Banquet

Warminster, PA- The NEETS 7th Annual Awards Banquet was held November 13, 2010 at the Ben
Wilson Senior Center in Warminster, PA. DJ services were provided by "DJ
Rockin' Rick" - Big Car Driver #120 Rick Latza.

After a buffet dinner, the awards presentation began with honoring the top
five finishers in the Ladies Division with top honors going to Carrie Pyle
for the Championship.

"The Top Ten Club" awards were then presented to everyone who had a top ten
finish in any of the races for the year.

The top ten drivers in points for the Small Car division were given out next
with Phil Levering being crowned Champion for the division. Sponsor Fred
Conti of Conti Landscaping assisted in handing
out the trophies.

The top ten drivers in the Big Car division were honored next with Division
Sponsor Savage 61 Dodge, represented by Shon Elk, assisting with the distribution of the trophies. It would
be Tim Pauch taking the home the Championship trophy for the division for the second consecutive year.

Both division champions received trophy, $1,000 points fund payout and custom embroidered leather jackets. In addition, veteran enduro driver, Jim Erdbrink, hand crafted and hand painted two miniature "match-box" sized model cars of the champions' cars.

The Team Championship Challenge participants were honored at the end of the night. Over the course of the 2010 season, 8 teams of three drivers pooled their points together in a race for an overall championship. Sponsor Rick Latza would assist in handing out the Team Championship awards
to the top five teams. A massive 6-foot tall trophy was given to "Team Skook" for their
championship win.

Several special awards were then handed out including the coveted "Uncle
Petey" award by non other than Uncle Petey. The award was given to big car
driver Shawn Naftzinger for his efforts in 2010.

NEETS officials were all given Appreciation Awards for their dedication to
the series.

Special awards were given to Dave Bentley Jr. for the most rolls in a single flip, Most Charitable award to Cory & Lynda Student, Sportsmanship Award to Chuck Detweiler, Spirit Award to Travis Schwenk and the Promoter's Award to Rick Latza for his efforts to help create the Team Championship Challenge.

After the awards presentation concluded, series promoter Joe Cutri delivered his closing speech announcing the efforts to attain a full dual series in 2011 at both a dirt track and an asphalt track, Grandview Speedway and Sundance Vacations Speedway. The night concluded with DJ Rockin’ Rick as he rocked the house spinning tunes and getting the crowd pumped up on the dance floor.

One final show remains on the 2010 NEETS schedule. The series will make its first appearance at Sundance Vacations Speedway since the 2006 season. The November 28th event will show case a pair of 200-lap open comp. enduros, plus a Trux and Ladies race.
