The LImodmaniac is again raising funds for the Riverhead 100 and Whelen 175 modified races.

Last year Jim raised over $10,000 to supplement the track purse.

Hey Jaws, thanks a lot for linking the PayPal site.

Every little bit helps in making this bigger and better than ever.

So far, we are attempting two things. The Riverhead 100 on May 21 and the Whelen Tour Race on July 30.

The Riverhead 100 will offer an extra 2000 to the purse. 1000 to the winner and 1000 to the highest finish by an "invader" - Last year, Ron Silk took home an extra 1500. This year, it could be more. Of course, if we get extra donations, we can up the winners purse even more, or give some extra cash to whoever finishes 2nd or 3rd.

The Whelen Tour race is the big one. Last year, we were able to add 10,500 to the purse, plus give tow money to the guys who did not qualify. Again, this year, we want to give each driver 300 for making the show, and then extra money to the winner which will bring his winnings for the evening, $5000.

To add some fun to this years event , we are looking to see what fans will donate 300 in honor of their favorite driver. If you designate who you want to get your 300, he will know that you donated it. Also, if one driver, has a lot of fans donating money in his name, that driver could be walking off with a whole bunch of extra money.

Whatever you can donate is a big help and helps make these races something extra special. No donation is too small. It all adds up and goes directly to the drivers who "Live by the Grace of God and 600 Horsepower!" And if you can't donate, try to come to the races and see the Modifieds at the Head. Would love to see a lot of people putting these races on their list of races for this upcoming season. Gotta get all my New England/UpstateNY/ PA and NJ friends to think about travelling out to the Island and support these 2 races.
