Riverhead whelen race

Should it be ( with extra money added) 5000 to win. And an extra 300 to every driver.....or. 10,000 to win with extra money only to the top four drivers?

10,000 to win we dont get many races like that and for the winner to actually come away ahead at Riverhead will be a first.

Still need 5000 to reach our goal and then it will be 10000 to win and 300 to each driver who qualifies. Will be the biggest win at Riverhead ever!

300 Additional for each driver is a great idea, I think that the Riverhead regulars who qualify should get additional money over the tours guys, maybe 500 for them. I am not exactly sure how they figure the purse money but if your a regular on the tour they usually get more than someone who only runs occasionally. Giving the Riverhead guys some additional money would make up a little bit of the difference. Also you have to remember that most of the tour guys come with some good financial backing versus the Riverhead regular that has limited local sponsers.

I think its great what you are doing and how you divide it up will be great. But giving Riverhead guys extra is not a good idea. Remember this a TOUR race. The majority of teams on the tour are struggling to get to every race. Just my opinion.Maybe some extra to teams that dont qualify = tow money

We did tow money to the few teams that did not qualify last year. Hoping to do that again this year.

As of now, the tour race is still 5000 to win with an extra 300 to start . With other helping out, I am still hoping to raise enough to make it 10,000 to win. And hopefully some tow money for those who don't qualify.

As for the 100 lap race in May , threes an extra 1000 for the winner and 1000 for the top tour driver. Again, with some extra help, we might be able to do something bigger.

I say since the tour guys get extra money for "invading" the Riverhead 100, then the locals should get and extra boost for making or finishing top 5 in the tour show.

When I had the first thoughts about helping out the drivers at Riverhead, with the tour race, it was simply because I am a big fan of the modifieds. The people who have donated money, in the past, usually fit the same mold. It's not that we don't have our favorites, but we simply love the modifieds. The money going to the drivers, for the most part , simply comes from the pockets of the people who love watching this sport and these cars. The fans of the modifieds are pretty special people.

Today, I got a letter and a check in the mail from JWfor8x (JW Buckley). It is his 2nd donation and he's simply doing it because he is a fan and has been a fan of the modifieds for some 50 years. As he says, its simply his way of being able to give back to what he loves so much. Thanks for the $100 total donation. I know the drivers are appreciative of what we are trying to do .
