St. Johns, PA- Legends drivers and teams will have something to smile about for the 2011 racing season here in the Northeast, as the Pennsylvania Asphalt Legends (PAL) series at Mountain Speedway will return to traditional Legends car rules for the upcoming season. Additionally, speedway management is looking at the possibility of running the popular Legends cars on Sundays, early and late in the season, which will allow teams to compete for national points during the summer months and at other venues on Saturday nights.

The tentative Mountain Speedway schedule will be released in January, with the Legends being slated for 10 shows.

“Many Legends drivers have expressed interest in running on Sundays, and the Legends cars always put on a great show”, stated Promoter Joe Callavini.
Callavini continued, “We would like to thank Hoosier racing tire for their support of the PAL Legends in 2010, but felt it was in everyone’s best interest to follow INEX rules for 2011”.

The Mountain Speedway season begins with Sunday shows in April through May, and the Legends would compete each week. They would return on Sundays in September, and will also be a part of the popular “King Of The Mountain” championship weekend, which is slated for October 8-9th this season. The NELMA Legends fall classic is also tentatively scheduled to make its return in 2011.

Valid 2011 INEX licenses will be honored, and teams are encouraged to reserve a paved pit parking spot for an additional fee, by contacting the speedway office at (570)788-7544. You can also visit the speedway website at www.mountainspeedway.com
