The 8th Annual Southern Tier Speedworld which takes place at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY has announced that this years’ show will run from Friday March 4th to Sunday March 6th.
For the eighth consecutive year Mike & Michelle Stolarcyk Cars & Trucks of Whitney Point, NY has signed on as the events major sponsor. For the sixth consecutive year Country Town Auto Service of Kirkwood, NY has signed on as an associate sponsor for the event.
Just like in the previous seven versions Southern Tier Speedworld is a free car show that takes place during normal business hours of the Oakdale Mall. Each of the past three years a new one day attendance record has been set and organizers of Southern Tier Speedworld expect this to happen once again this year.
“ Besides being a free car show the opportunity to display your sponsors in front of a non – racing public all weekend long is very important “ stated Show Manager Robin Oltz. “ Year after year I see and hear stories from the racing teams about how a non – racing person comes up and sees a local business sponsoring a racecar. Their interest is peaked and if you can get that non – racing person interested in either supporting that sponsor or even come to the races, that is what this entire weekend is all about. “
Once again this year American Legion Post 80 which is located on Main St. in Binghamton will host the Awards Party on Saturday night March 5th. All entries in the show receive one complimentary pass to the Awards Party and additional tickets to the Awards Party can be purchased all weekend long in Center Court at the Oakdale Mall.
Besides having racecars displayed all weekend long all of the local race tracks will be on hand distributing 2011 racing schedules and answering questions on the upcoming racing season.
Entry forms for the show have been mailed out to participants who were in the show last year. Anyone else interested in participating this year can contact Show Manager Robin Oltz at oesracing@stny.rr.com or by calling 607 – 798 – 3683.
Show Manager Oltz reminds everyone that space is limited inside the Oakdale Mall so don’t delay if you want to be involved with the areas free racecar show.
