TJ Halpin's to Host Long Island's Original Daytona 500 Party Sun. Feb. 20

One of the longest running traditions in Long Island stock car racing will continue on Sunday, February 20th when the original Daytona 500 Party will be presented at TJ Halpin's of Setauket by Steve and Tim Halpin along with Riverhead Raceway's Bob Finan. With Steve Halpin a partner in TJ Halpin's this promises to be the biggest and best Daytona 500 party in the history of the three decade old event!

In the pub area of TJ Halpin's there will be no less than 10 flat screen televisions, complete with surround sound which will broadcast the race, with a fully heated 35' X 35' tent being erected on the back deck of the restaurant that is located in the Heatherwood Country Club. During the race an endless buffet will be available, $2 pints are on tap as well with some great giveaways and drink specials during the Daytona 500 party.

It will seem like Christmas in February during the Daytona 500 party at TJ Halpin's as Stephen Halpin has been busy gathering many giveaways of his own. In a partnership with Best Buy of Setauket they will be raffling off a flat screen TV, with plenty of other Best Buy giveaways being distributed during the race. Tommy Baldwin Racing will be raffling off two NASCAR Sprint Cup hot passes for events at the Dover Speedway, as well as Pocono Raceway. Sprint Mobile will also get in on the action at the 2011 Daytona 500 party with some great giveaways.

"First we'd like to thank John & Jen of JC'S in Manorville for their years of hospitality" Bob Finan noted. "When Stephen and Timmy Moore bought TJ Halpin's last fall we knew right then and there that the first, the biggest and the best Daytona 500 party on Long Island would be on the move. Stephen is still working on some additional prizes and giveaways and of course we'll have the Daytona 500 pools too." TJ'S Heros has been a longtime sponsor of many a race team at Riverhead Raceway over the years and Timmy Moore will have plenty of TJ'S product on hand.

TJ Halpin's also plays host each and every Wednesday to the Riverhead Raceway Rewind at 7:00 pm and is located at 303 Arrowhead Lane in E. Setauket, just an 1/8 of a mile south off Route 347 (Nesconset Highway).

If you can't make it to ours there are plenty of other parties you can support on Long Island. Chris McGuire does one at Cavanaughs and Bob McCormack does 2 at Changing Times Pub in Farmingdale and Northport. Hope you can make it to one of them.

If I was not busy that day, I would come to party with my family. Hope to see you there for a real nascar driving experience (http://www.racingadventure.com/). :D
