WALL STADIUM TO HOST “FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE NIGHTS”
ON THE FINAL FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH STARTING IN APRIL
Family friendly “Friday Night Cruise Nights” will return to Wall Stadium for the 2011 season. Starting in April, the Shore Speedway will host these highly popular classic car events on the final Friday evening of each month. April 29, May 27, June 24, July 29, August 26 and September 30 are the dates.
“The final Friday night of the month became available for our cruise night when, unfortunately, it was announced that another great local cruise night that had a long history would not be scheduled for this summer,” track operator Cliff Krause said. “We wanted to help carry on that tradition by offering our cruise night here at Wall Stadium on the final Friday each month.
“Since our cruise nights are free of charge for both families and participants, it makes for a great evening for the entire family. We’re all looking forward to the last Friday night of each month.”
All “Friday Night Cruise Nights” are set to start at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free of charge for both car show participants and those who visit the speedway to admire the classic and custom cars. Just like last year, several of the speedway’s racecar drivers also plan to display their machines and meet with neighbors from the surrounding community during the Friday evenings.
Plans again call for all of the special cars to be parked in the large, paved pit area at the speedway. Food will be available from the speedway’s refreshment stands and participants will get the chance to cruise around Wall Stadium’s famous third mile high banked oval as the track’s pace car will lead groups of cars around the track though out the evening. Music will set the cruise night mood.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
