Waterford Speedbowl 2011 Schedule of Events set
Will offer six Saturday night races regularly in 2011;
SK Light division added to limited schedule

Waterford Speedbowl’s 2011 schedule of
events was released in early 2011, highlighted by the Saturday night
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series program increasing from five to six
weekly divisions during regular race nights.

The 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series championship chase has 27
scheduled events taking place over a 6-month period. Budweiser Blastoff
Weekend kicks off the 2011 New England racing season on April 1-3
featuring a 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series event on Sunday, April
3. In addition, the SK Modifieds® will compete in a special 61-lap race
honoring the track’s 61st consecutive season, also on April 3. The popular
NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites will also begin their seasons at Blastoff
Weekend. In total, 14 divisions will be in action over the weekend with
nearly 500 laps of feature racing to commence another season of racing in
New England.

The SK Modifieds®, Late Models, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks will again
be at the core of Saturday night NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action.
New in 2011, the Speedbowl will introduce a limited schedule of
X-Modified and SK Light combination races on the Saturday night schedule.
Each car will be eligible for competition according to the respective
Waterford Speedbowl X-Modified and Stafford Motor Speedway SK Light rule
books. They will compete in 20-lap races. The division will be part of
the Speedbowl’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series lineup as its Division V
representative and make its Speedbowl debut May 21. The Legends Cars will
also be a frequent Saturday night division along with a Saturday Showdown
Series for the track’s Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday series divisions during
select Saturday programs.

Other highlights include the season-opener for the ISMA Supermodifieds on
May 28 in a Memorial Day Weekend tradition for the shoreline oval. On
Independence Day Weekend the annual mid-season 300 is back as a 6-division
program with 300 laps of feature racing, including a 100-lap SK Modified®
feature. The 4th annual Wings ‘n Wheels is planned for August 13 with the
ISMA Supermodifieds, NEMA Midgets, Modified Racing Series and SK
Modifieds®. Thunder on the Sound returns over Labor Day Weekend featuring
the 15th running of the $5,000-to-win Budweiser Modified Nationals SK-150
on Saturday, September 3. The Speedbowl Finale closes the racing season
October 7-9 with a 12-division weekend of racing.

The New England Truck Series will make multiple appearances at the
Speedbowl in 2011, continuing on the tradition of Truck racing at the
shoreline oval. The touring series began last season and quickly gained
popularity. A special 50-lap event is planned on July 23 for the
division. In addition to that event, the series will be on hand at
Blastoff Weekend, April 30, June 18 and at Finale Weekend event October
7-9 with possible additional dates.

Touring divisions on the schedule include the two dates from the Valenti
Modified Racing Series, ISMA Supermodifieds, and Pro Four Modifieds of New
England. The NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites, and Allison Legacy North Racing
Series will make multiple visits, while the North East Mini Stock Tour and
vintage racing groups such as the New England Antique Racers, STAR Tour
and more also land dates on the 2011 schedule.

The track’s popular Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday schedule is also released. The
mid-week series will see action in 20-events for its 11th season. It
features weekly racing for the Legends Cars, Bandolero’s, eight-cylinder
Super X-Car division and four-cylinder X-Car division. A weekly ‘wacky’
race is also part of the show.
