Thompson motel/hotel

Hey guys, I'm looking for a hotel/motel that is cheap somewhat close to Thompson, I recognize that anything in Thompson will likely be super booked, but I'd like to stay within 15 to 20 miles and pay under $100/night, last year at Waterford we stayed just down the road for $80/night so it should be doable, right?

If you are staying Saturday night, head back to Waterford and stay at the red roof inn in New London, usually pretty decent price. There's also a motel 6 in Niantic, which is near the track also.

If you want to stay close to the track....there is the Kings Inn in Putnam or it use to be called that, I haven't lived in CT in 4 years so i'm not sure what it is called anymore....or just look around in webster

Go to priceline.com and do the name your own price thing. Bid about 50-60% of the median rate. It allows you to limit the areas you are willing to stay in. I've saved alot of cash there.

theres a hotel in griswold just off exit 85 and i think theres one in plainfield off exit 87, but i'm not sure if its actually still open.

Last year we left right after the WMT time trials and made it with time to spare, if you stay for all the heats you may miss some racing at Waterford.
