what was diffrent on stefaniks car that they had to pull out the rule book
to pass inspection
stefanik as a former chassis buillder did he find and area not covered by the rule book and try to make his car better and nascar officals said no to the change
after all thats what makes a modified a modified

The area between the front and the body had a panel with holes in it. Check the photo.

Yery interesting, was he allowed to run that panel? Seems to me it would help with air flow and as a direct result aerodynamics

if the officials don't like the way ANYTHING looks irregardless of any gray areas of the rule book you can find they make you change it to conform.
back in 200? Donnie Lia brought a body to the Ice Breaker they did'nt like, it was changed.
back in 199? when Steffy was still building his own chassis, he teamed up with Bud Olsen on a chassis design & Nascar didn't like it at the Spring Sizzler that year.
back further when Richie Evans gave Steffy a ride at Thompson, that was with the straight axle car that Richie had. they didnt like that either.
