It's been 40 years since three racing friends convinced track owner Jack Arute Sr. to let them lease Stafford Motor Speedway for a day laying the ground for one of the greatest modified races in New England history. Lew Boyd, Bruce Cohen, and Dick Berrgren called their race the "Spring Sizzler."
