St. Johns, PA- Sunday was an emotional day for the family, friends and competitors of former Mountain Speedway Factory Stock champion, Mike Moyer, Jr. Moyer lost his life in March and many gathered together to host the 1st Annual Mike Moyer, Jr. Factory Stock Memorial at the speedway. In typical Factory Stock fashion, doors and fenders were rubbed and hot tempers filled the sir for some, but when it was all said and done, Matt Schlenker of Walnutport somehow pulled out the victory. Rusty Smith of Oxford, NY scored his second straight Sport Modified main event victory and Zane Zeiner of Bath notched a win in the Late Model feature. Scott Hubler of Coplay fended off the competition for his first INEX Legends victory of the season and Austin Fehr of Macungee
drove his TQ Midget to victory at the speedway.

With heavy hearts and a lot of lap money on the line, several Factory Stock competitors started the 30-lap Mike Moyer, Jr. Memorial Factory Stock event. Brandon Oltra led the field to the drop of the green flag and led the first circuit over Jeff Searfoss, Kermit Jacoby, Paul Morgan, Jr. and Chris Parry.

Searfoss grabbed the lead on lap three and by lap seven Morgan had moved to second. Matt Schlenker cracked the top five and held the third spot.

Morgan pressured the leader and Schlenker laid back, taking it all in. With a little bump and run, it appeared that Morgan would be in command on lap 23, but that all changed when Searfoss drove into the back of the leader to push him up the hill, allowing Searfoss to retake the lead. His lead however was short-lived, as Schlenker took command on lap 24.

The yellow flag flew on lap 25 when Parry and Searfoss tangled in turn three. Searfoss was not able to continue.

Parry lined up in second for the restart, with Morgan, Joe Helburg and Jacoby in tow. With the green flag back out, the top three sliced and diced over the closing laps. Schlenker crossed the stripe as the victor and Morgan was forced to settle for second. Helburg was third, followed by Parry and Jacoby.

Heat race wins went to Chris parry and Matt Schlenker.

Barry Callavini started on the pole and was quickly overtaken by Todd Baer in the 40-lap Sport Modified main event. Baer continued to lead and by lap eight Rusty Smith moved into second. Callavini held third, followed by Dave Brigati and Zane Zeiner.

Smith hounded Baer and he finally surrendered the lead to Smith on lap 11. Two laps later Zeiner got by both Brigati and Callavini to take third.

With Smith still in command, Kevin Orlando and Todd Geist brought out the caution when they tangled in turn four on lap 29. The top five remained the same as it had on lap 11, but that was all about to change.

Green flag racing resumed and Zeiner overtook Baer for second. He then attempted to get by Smith over the closing laps with his last chance coming following a lap 39 yellow flag, which involved Will Schneider.

Smith was flawless during the final lap and went on to pick up his second Sport Modified victory in his second start this season.

Kevin Orlando and Barry Callavini were heat race winners.

Adam Cox led the Late Model field to the drop of the green flag in the 30-lap contest. Mike Sweeney overtook him before a single lap was scored, but he settled into the second position with Craig Lutz, Travis Fisher and Kyle Harvell in pursuit.

Lutz then grabbed second from Cox and on lap seven Zane Zeiner overtook Harvell, who was running third at the time. Zeiner then overtook Lutz for the runner up spot two laps later and the set his sights on the leader. Zeiner shot by Sweeney and into the lead on lap 14. Sweeney retain second, followed by Lutz, Harvell and Fisher.

Despite two quick cautions in the final 10 laps, Zeiner was untouchable and went on to pick up his first Late Model victory of the season over Lutz, Fisher, Sweeney and Harvell.

Heat race victories went to Mike Sweeney and Travis Fisher.

Jeff Kot started from the pole in the 25-lap TQ Midget feature, but it was Austin Fehr who came from his third place starting spot to make a three-wide move for the lead work in turn one. Fehr led the first lap, followed by Paul Lotier, Jr. Kot, Robin Johnston and Jon Gambuti.

Kot moved back into second and then Johnston overtook Lotier for third on lap four. He eventually overtook Kot for second before reeling in the leader. However, Fehr held on over the final laps to take the victory over Johnston, Kot, Matt Janisch and Gambuti.

Heat race wins went to Jeff Kot and Robin Johnston.

Stephen Hershey led the 21-car INEX Legends field to the drop of the green flag and was overtaken by Jason Sendlewski in the early going. The first of several yellows flew on lap three when Mike Alcaro got into Andrew Stotler in turn 2.

Green flag racing resumed and Scott Hubler moved from third and into the race lead. That changed when Kevin Nowak took his turn at the top spot on lap 10 and then Hubler retook command following a lap 15 restart. Nowak grabbed the lead once again on lap 18 but that went by the wayside when he and Alcaro bumped wheels, which resulted in a turn one spin by Nowak.

Hubler held the lead with six laps remaining over Brandon Michael, Raven Schrantz, Tony Hanbury and Darren Scherer. Prior to that, Chris Young also had methodically worked his way into the top three before encountering problems.

Hanbury worked his way into second in the closing laps but Hubler held him off to take the race win. Brandon DeBrakilmer finished third, followed by R. Schrantz and Matt Marring.

Heat race victories went to Brandon Michael, Stephen Hershey and Kevin Nowak.
