Moms will be in the spotlight at Wall Stadium this Saturday night (May 7) as the third mile high banked paved oval speedway will honor the ladies on Mothers Day weekend. On “Ladies Night,” the stock car speedway will offer a discounted admission price for all ladies in the grandstand seating area and ladies will also be presented a potted plant while supplies last. Grandstand seating will open at 4:00 p.m. and the first race will start at 6:00 p.m.

“Auto racing is famous for being a family sport,” speedway operator Cliff Krause said. “I know that my wife Diane has backed our son Andrew’s racing since the start. Being at the track every week the impact of all the moms is very obvious.

“This should be a good way to honor all the moms who are so important to our sport.”

Defending Modified champion Chas Okerson of Freehold, who grabbed the opening night win just last weekend, will lead the powerful Modified stock cars in a 40-lap main event on “ladies Night,” while opening night Blewett Recycling Sportsman winner Kevin Davison of Howell will pace that division in a 25-lap main event. Factory Stock opening night winner Shannon Mongeau of Bradley Beach is expected to return for his division’s 25-lapper and the Legend Cars will compete in a 25-lap feature led by opener winner Robert French of Howell.

Also on Saturday night’s agenda will be the beautifully restored racecars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club. Not only will this organization display many cars in the grandstand concourse, but will also offer a rolling exhibition of days gone by on the speedway during the evening. The Street Stocks will have the evening off.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 12:30 p.m., with a paid testing session for competitors then running from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m.

The regular afternoon practice session will then begin at 4:00 p.m. and run until 5:30 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 4:00 p.m.

On track action will then begin at 6:00 p.m. with qualifying events to be followed by feature race action for all four divisions.
