DIRT SPORTSMAN CARS; STREET STOCK TWIN 25’S HEADLINE WALL STADIUM SATURDAY (MAY 21)

The cars and stars of the dirt track Sportsman stock car world, many of whom race at the New Egypt Speedway on a regular basis, will have their chance to race on the third mile paved oval at Wall Stadium this Saturday evening, May 21. Also headlining this five-division stock car racing program will be the Street Stocks in Twin 25 lap main events.

Grandstand seating opens at 4:00 p.m. and racing begins at 6:00 p.m.

The event will mark the first ever appearance by the dirt Sportsman cars on Wall’s paved speedway. Licenses from any dirt track speedway that presents dirt track Sportsman racing will be honored on Saturday and the prevailing rules for the event will be the New Egypt Speedway Sportsman rules. The purse offered will be comparable to the New Egypt Speedway purse.

Sharing the spotlight with the dirt Sportsman cars will be Wall’s own Street Stocks in Twin 25 lap feature races. Among those expected to see competition are former speedway champ Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood, Jerry Stanzione of Keansburg, Howie Conk of Jackson and Greg Miranda of Hazlet, just to name a few.

Along with the dirt Sportsman racers and the Street Stocks, the asphalt style Blewett Recycling Sportsman cars will also be on the May 21 card in a 25-lap main event, while the United Crane Factory Stocks and the INEX Legend Cars will each compete in a 25-lapper. The Wall Modifieds have the night off.

The May 21 schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 12:30 p.m., with a paid testing session for competitors then running from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m.

The regular afternoon practice session will then begin at 4:00 p.m. and run until 5:30 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 4:00 p.m.

On track action will then begin at 6:00 p.m. with qualifying events to be followed by feature race action for all four divisions.

The track will also be busy on Sunday afternoon as the “Small Car Sunday Series” takes the green flag at noon.

Wall Stadium Speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
