Members of the United States Armed Forces will be in the spotlight at Wall Stadium this Saturday night (May 28) as the third mile high banked paved oval speedway will honor America’s Heroes on Memorial Day weekend. On “Military Night” the stock car speedway will offer a discounted admission price for service personnel who present an active ID in the grandstand seating area. Grandstand seating will open at 4:00 p.m. and the first race will start at 6:30 p.m., one half hour later than has been the case thus far this season.

“We owe so much to the men and women who serve this country in the Armed Forces,” speedway operator Cliff Krause said. “We feel honored to be able to honor them.”

Defending Modified champion Chas Okerson of Freehold, who grabbed the opening night victory, and two-time winner Anthony Sesely of Matawan will lead the powerful Modified stock cars in Twin 35 lap main events, while defending Blewett Recycling Sportsman champ Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck will pace that division in a 25-lap main event.

United Crane Factory Stock three-time winner Shannon Mongeau of Bradley Beach is expected to return for his division’s 25-lapper and defending Street Stock champ Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood will be looking for glory in his class’ 25-lap main event.

The open cockpit Three Quarter Midgets will visit the speedway for the first time this season in a 25-lap feature, while the INEX Legend Cars will have the night off.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 12:30 p.m., with a paid testing session for competitors then running from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m.

The regular afternoon practice session will then begin at 4:00 p.m., while spectator seating will also open at 4:00 p.m.

Racing action will then begin at 6:30 p.m. with qualifying events to be followed by feature race action for all four divisions.
