For the second week in a row the 2011 season opener has to be rolled back as wet weather conditions prevail at Spencer Speedway. The season opener will now be on Friday, June 3 when it will be Insinger Racing Fuels night at the speedway. Featured will be a complete program of N ASCA R Sunoco Modifieds, Super Stocks, Super Sixes and Auto Value 4-Cylinder Scorpions.
This will be a special night for the race fans as it is the annual “Pack the Track” night. Adult admissions have been lowered to just $6 each that night. You can not even go to a movie matinee for that price anymore!
Not since 2006, has Spencer Speedway opened their season as late as June. Next Friday will be the latest opening date for the track since the first year, 1955.
Mother Nature has also set up an interesting situation. The Insinger Fuels 30-lapper for the Sunoco Mods is the first round of the NASCAR Spencer-Chemung-Holland Upstate NY Challenge Series presented by Graff Trucking and Sunoco Race Fuels. Now due to the opener on May 20, being rained out, Spencer will host round two of the series one week later, June 10, when the Sunoco Modified swill be running the Sunoco 100.
Come and be part of the 57th annual Spencer Speedway opener on June 3. Pit gates will open at 4:30 pm , with grandstands opening at 5:30 p.m. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester , NY , along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson . Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASCAR Place to Race” for Central New York . Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Series championship.
