With the $33,000 plus LATICRETE SBM 125 Tour-Type Modified Open just a couple of days away on June 4, now comes word that two more champion drivers will be heading to the track, "Where Champions are Made".

Reigning multi-time Race of Champions title holder Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Penn., has confirmed that he is the newest entry into what is even more clearly a true All-Star Modified event. Hirschman has won the RoC Championship for the past three seasons.

Hirschman will be competing in the Bob Horn number 50, which he drove at the Waterford Speedbowl. Hirschman has a stellar record of success at Star. He is also the champion of the four race All-Star Series run at Star in 2008.

Chuck Steuer has been a fixture at the Riverhead Raceway on Long Island, but the 2006 and 1996 Riverhead Track Champion from Bohemia, L.I., N.Y., has confirmed that he too will become a part of this very special event.

There will be a practice session on Friday evening for Modified teams who would like to get more familiar with quarter-mile oval. Qualifying begins at 4:30 on Saturday with a one-lap time trial run to qualify the five fastest for the $500 Exeter Decorating Dash For Cash.

Immediately following those time trials about 4:50 PM, the Star "Outlaw" Late Models, Rookie Stocks and Roadrunners will qualify. Then the Modifieds take to the track for their heat races, possibly as early as 5:30 PM, followed by the "Dash for Cash", with feature events and a Modified Consi (if necessary) to follow.

The New Hampshire Motor Speedway will be on hand as well. Some lucky fans will walk out of the track on Saturday with free tickets. Four tickets to their August Indycar event will be given away, along with tickets to the Sylvania 300 Sprint Cup Series "Chase" event to be held in September.

Despite the high purse and an "All-Star" field of entries, admission for this once in a lifetime event is just $20 for adults, $10 for juniors, with kids 10 and under being admitted free. For more information and a generous listing of event and lap sponsors and an entry list, log onto the track web site: www.star-speedway.com (http://www.star-speedway.com).
