The 7th Annual Norwood Arena Reunion at Bezema Motors was the most successful one yet. The dealership on the Automile was packed with an overflow of fans, former competitors, race, classic and muscle cars as well as hot rods. Among the drivers in attendance were Steve Delaney of Dedham, Daryl Stampfl of Norwood, Jeff Lynch of Townsend, Gary Sager of Seekonk, Henry Stampfl of Plainville, Mike McCullen, Demo Derby King Bob Anderson of Brockton, Pete Desjardins of Cape Cod, 1970 Daytona 500 winner, Pete Hamilton of Maine, Joe Rosenfield, Jr. of Bridgewater, Jim Rosenfield of Middleboro, Fran Voss of Lexington, Jack Malone of Needham, Leo Cleary of Hanover, Bob Healey of Stoughton, George Savory of Westwood, Jerry Capozolli of Stoughton, Jeff Horn of Ashland, George Summers of Upton, Don McCoullough of Walpole, Lew Boyd of Newburyport and Joey Kourafas of Randolph. Former Norwood Arena Chief Steward Carl Merrill of Newton was also on hand. Fans took the opportunity to get autographs on pictures, programs and other collectibles.

Also present was Norwood Arena Webmaster Don Thomas who made his annual trek back to the Bay State from California. Lawn Mower racers who compete at various tracks in New England displayed their racing equipment along with Coastal 181 publishers and representatives of various racing books. Other vendors of collectibles, model race cars, posters and paintings did a brisk business. The NEAR Hall of Fame entourage set up its display. Restored race cars from NEAR and STARS were there. Awards went to Ed Webber of Walpole for the best looking motorcycle; Daryl Stampfl got the award for the best classic car, a restored Austin Altered Roadster; and Attleboro's Chris Murphy's Modified Coupe took the best race car award. Giveaways included tickets to the Seekonk Speedway and Lee USA Speedway in NH. Those in attendance enjoyed lunch provided by the Bezema family in Marty's Cafe.

New England racing fans can look forward to the 8th Annual Norwood Arena Reunion to be held on the first Sunday in June, 2012.
