View Full Version : Mahoning Valley Speedway Poker Series Returns to Action this Saturday Night

(LEHIGHTON, PA 6-15-11) This coming Saturday night, June 18 starting at 6:00 p.m. Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway will be wheeling and dealing with Hand 2 of the Modified 100 Poker Series.
This will be the second of five 100-lap mains for the Modifieds which pays the winning driver $3000.
In the most recent 100-lapper on May 21 Don Wagner scored the win while current point leader Tyler Haydt was second and in the process heads into Saturday’s race with the best poker hand as he is showing a pair of Kings thanks in part to a runner-up in in a 35-lap ‘wild card’ race held on May 7.
Matt Hirschman is just as near with a pair of Queens. Three time and defending Modified champ John Bennett is holding a pair of nines while Matt Higgins comes next with a pair of fours.
All of the participants are vying for a share of the $5000 Poker Tournament jackpot with the top three card holders taking home $2500, $1500 and $1000 respectively.
This year there will be an additional $1000 going to the driver with the worst poker hand.
Eligible drivers must partake in all five 100 lap features in order to have a stake in the ante.
Time trials will lock in the top-12 while all others will then race their way into the field vie heats.
Also on the card will be Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro4 Late Models and the Micro Stocks.
Mahoning Valley Speedway, run under the direction of the husband and wife team of Doug and Gena Hoffman, is located on PA route 443, two miles west of Lehighton.
