Year after year this blunderbust track record gets broken time after time yet still everyone turns a blind eye to how far these cars are evolving beyond the rulebook.

If I'm not mistaken J-Rod had the track record at a 15.162, 10 years ago. Since then they have changed motor rules at we run a new tire. I dont think 2 tenths of a second over a 10 year span would be considered " evolving beyond the rule book" I know that Tommys car, Scott car and I think, the Pick car are more than 10 years old. Maybe they just work on them a little smarter than the rest of the guys. Not to take away from the other guys , I'm sure they all work just as hard. JMO

I was recalling handley's 15.4 time. Which is now 4.5 tenths off. Not to mention every other division has slowed down with track wear. So while the modifieds are losing tenths the blunderbusts are gaining them? No disrespect but I'm not buying the "work ethic" story.

i believe tommy was 14.9, pick 15.0, scott 15.2 and bader 15.3 the rest of the field was a big drop off.

Hey kash- with my "legal'' Cadillac from '00-'01, i could comfortably say i could get at least into the 14.8's with the knowledge i have now. back then i was just a 19 year old driver without much setup knowledge. 14.9 is definitely possible. The only surprising part is that most of the current times are with a small block.

Agreed not a big drop off at all Scott M was 15.188 I was 15.195 and Jack who did a great jobwas right there with a 15.3. And the kid was fast. But as you all know time trials are fun but its how good your car is in the race.

Actually one of the coolest things at the racetrack not many very people get to see. I'm not sure when it started but every track record is written on the wall of the press box. It's a pretty cool artifact.
