NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing returns July 16

Waterford Speedbowl takes a one-week hiatus
from its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing on July 9, following on
the heels of the mid-season championship Speedbowl.com 300 last Saturday
night. The track hits the break in the midst of some great championship
points battles and a season marked by successful individual campaigns at
the halfway mark in the Saturday night season.

NASCAR racing resumes on Saturday, July 16 presented by The Rock 106.9
WCCC, with all five Whelen All-American Series divisions in action. The
SK Modifieds®, Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini
Stocks and SK Light Modifieds will all be part of the event which also
includes a special Saturday appearance by the X-Car division – a staple of
the track’s mid-week Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday program.

Each of the Speedbowl’s NASCAR divisions point races are yet to see much
separation, speaking to yet another highly competitive season at the
shoreline speedway. Keith Rocco, the defending NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series national champion and defending track SK Modified® champion is once
again in the hunt nationally as well as locally to repeat his titles from
a year ago.

In the Mini Stock division, track points leader Glenn Colvin is teetering
near the top of NASCAR’s national standings in Division IV among asphalt
tracks across the country. Also in the Mini Stock division, defending
track champion Ken Cassidy Jr. has moved atop the all-time winners list in
the class this season by scoring four victories.

The Speedbowl returns to action next week starting with Wednesday’s Wild
‘n Wacky race program. On Friday, the Show and Go at the ‘Bowl offers
free admission for spectator drag racing and a cool car cruise.
