The stars and cars of the Street Stock division will be in the spotlight at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (July 16) as they compete in a 50-lap championship race. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. with the first qualifying event set for 7:00 p.m.
Street Stock racing at the third mile paved oval has been hard fought this season and Saturday night’s double distance main event is expected to offer nothing less. Leading the way will be point leader Howie Conk of Jackson, but he is expected to see stiff competition from recent winner Nick Shaw of Chatham, Beachwood’s Bill Vanderveen, Mike Tillett of Bayville and Keansburg’s Jerry Stanzione, just to name a few. Current plans call for time trials to be used to set the starting field.
The open wheel Modifieds will also be on the card in a 40-lap main event, while the United Crane Factory Stocks and the INEX Legend Cars will also each compete in a 25-lap main event. The Blewett Recycling Sportsman cars will have the night off.
Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, with a paid practice session set for 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Regular practice will be up next and grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. The first qualifying event will take the green flag at 7:00 p.m.
Looking ahead to July 23, the Tobias Speedsters will join the stock cars for their first ever appearance at Wall Stadium. The Late Model stock cars and the open cockpit TQ Midgets will join stock cars on the July 30 card.
