TOBIAS SPEEDSTERS JOIN FOUR STOCK CAR DIVISIONS AT
WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (JULY 23)
The Tobias Speedsters, a relatively new, affordable racing division, will join Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Legend Car stock car racing divisions at Wall Stadium this Saturday night. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with Speedster time trials at 6:50 p.m. and qualifying heat races immediately thereafter.
The Tobias Speedsters should be suited perfectly to Wall Stadium’s third mile high-banked paved oval. Powered by methanol fuel injected engines, these open-wheel, open-cockpit racecars closely resemble Sprint Cars. Most of the regular Speedster competitors are looking for this Wall Stadium visit because it is one of the rare times that they will compete on asphalt.
Headlining the evening’s action will be the open wheel Modified stock cars in a 40-lap main event, while the Blewett Recycling Sportsman cars, the Street Stocks and the INEX Legend Cars will all race in 25-lap main events. The United Crane Factory Stocks will enjoy a well-deserved night off before returning on July 30 in “Twin 25” lap main events.
Along with the excitement of professional auto racing, Saturday’s card will also take on a fun atmosphere as “Luau Night” festivities are being offered. On this night only, all fans wearing a Hawaiian style shirt to the ticket window will enjoy a discounted ticket price. Festive island music will also be featured over the public address system and island themed foods will be offered at the refreshment stands.
Pit gates will open at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, with a special Speedster practice session set for 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Regular practice will be up next from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. and grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Speedster time trials are set for 6:50 p.m. and the first qualifying event will take the green flag at 7:00 p.m.
Looking ahead to July 30, the Late Model stock cars in a 40-lapper and the open cockpit TQ Midgets will join the Factory Stocks, Sportsman cars and the Legend Cars on the Saturday night card. The Garden Vintage Stock Car Club will also be on hand on July 30.
