Looks like you can get in to the Friday night show for just 2 bucks ( twin 50 lap modifieds) Saturday's tour race costs $12 . How come , not ten bucks! Afterall, this is Bowman Gray (and its not like the purse is any bigger ..or is it?)

If NASCAR waived some of their license fees/ etc.. would more cars show up that regularly run Bowman Gray?

I wouldn't doubt if NASCAR talked to some of the guys who just run weekly there and offered to let them slide on some of the rules in order to fill the field

12 hours.....wow. Some of these tracks should pay you gas money and put you up at a hotel.

Saturday's forecast is looking kinda iffy right now. Weather Channel has the chance of rain at 60% after 2p.....and it doesn't get any better as the day goes on.

with only 16 WSMT cars at BGS today you have to figure Thompson is going to look like a 125 lap heat race.

You really have to wonder what the HOENIG/DODGE/DOWD THOMPSON TEAM was thinking in scheduling this race, now i haven't seen all the details about how this will work or purses since NASCAR and the tracks doesn't disclose that anymore, but to schedule a race where u get 28-30 northern guys, maybe 8-10 if lucky southern guys for 50 bucks plus the allllll start shootout?

WOULDNT a 300 or any distance race, put some good money up, add lap money do some off the wall things, PROMOTION, drop the i wont have a 300 unless i can have 2 qualiying races during july and august for the pole which i never understood the big deal in a 300 lap race??????????

you have in the vicinity of i would say 200 TOUR TYPE/LEGAL/ROC/VMRS/ OPEN COMP TYPE MODIFIED CARS IN GARAGES AROUND THE NEW ENGLAND/NEW YORK.PA/NJ/ SOUTH TO MAKE A GREAT RACE SOMEHOW

CANT SEE HOW THIS DOES IT!!!

I look at it this way, if the North and South purses aren't identical than none of the Southern teams should make the tow. You can't get a full field at BGS why would they travel 15 hours to watch the Northern race take all the money.

I think the main culprit defeating the return of a 300 is a Nascar sanction. You have all these tracks that run modifieds under a weekly Nascar sanction and then they keep them away by gorging them with the cost of a touring series license. If it was just the car and driver it would still be too much but to hit the people up who work on the cars or just help out is just asinine. These are the people that keep the weekly racing going by flooding the backgates with cash and now you want to charge them another 200 bucks to be a tire carrier on top of the 50 bucks just to get in..... I wish Thompson luck but I am not holding my breath.
