$160,000 purse???? If that isn't incentive enough to show , I don't know what is. Is there a breakdown of what the payouts would be? I didn't see one posted on the link

Jim -
I'm not sure where it says 160k, but I imagine this is total money spread accross 9 races, no?

As far as the N/S format; aside from lifting the great idea from the real N/S promoters - this event might as well be up in Maine or Canada - you'll get 10 South cars if we're lucky.. real lucky..

Now don't get me wrong - this is a step in the right direction in terms of creative promotion, larger purse; and I love racing at Thompson in Sept - I just think this will be a real tough draw for the southern teams..

Goldy, I believe that is spread across the 3 Tour races

Burt - thanks..

So if for the 3 "tour" races in this one show, that probally evens out to normal type purses with something like 50k for this 3rd combo race?? hard to tell since race purses and payouts are kinda hard to dig up for past events. I don't view this event as anything extra fantastic on the payout unless someone can show me otherwise..

The 125 lap WMT race @ Stafford in May had a posted purse of $74,742 with a cash payout of $52,155 including bonus money. #6 Silk won $6,950 for the win. If the posted purse is only $160,000 before NASCAR takes it's cut, then the cash payout is nothing special. If the cash purse is $160,000 (doubtful) for the 3 races then the posted purse would have to be $200,000 and that would make this a very special event. Over $50,000 in cash per event.

Will the WSMT Teams receive the same bonus money as the WMT North Teams ?

Thompson had a posted purse of $160,000 for the 300 the last time they ran it.

To make this a success Thompson and NASCAR has to let the North Teams run a second car in the Southern part of the event, but do not let the Northern Teams move on to the special 50 lap event from the Southern part of the event and let outsiders run the Southern part of the event with a one day NASCAR License.

Stafford is running the MRS on Friday on the same weekend.

I honestly don't believe the purse will effect the car counts as it stands now. You either have a nascar license or you don't. I don't see teams running out and buying a nascar license for one race. I'll actually be impressed if the northern guys put a full field on the track. What they should do is make the southern portion an open competition race. Then the Dash for Cash would really be a who's who of drivers. Anybody with a modified would take a shot at the $50k if that is what it is.

If your kid is 14 or under it should only cost him $10 to get in although I'm sure $50 a ticket will keep some folks home. At least fuel prices will be about .50 less a gallon by the time Sept 11th rolls around.

I think different people have started to put the puzzle together here, and I also think we've addressed some of these things in previous threads, but I thought I'd try to pull a few different things together.

The NWMT 125 and the NWSMT 125 are the only points races. The 50-lap Showdown is an exhibition, non-points paying race. A "dash for the cash," if you will.

The NWMT 125 and NWSMT 125 will pay out identical per position, but the two tours will have their normal respective contingency and bonus plans.

The setup is to have the top 15 from each 125 transfer to the Showdown, one tour would make up the inside row and one the outside row, for a head-to-head matchup.

post the purses per event. it's not that difficult. you have 3 different races racing for an "announced" $160,000...break it down. afterall, you are the "Daytona" spokesperson for the WMT, WSMT are you not?

How are the tour pts. going to work ? pants only for the 2 125 lap races ? no points for the 50 ?

No, no points for the 50... its all MONEY

There is an $11,000 dollar bonus plan also up for grabs and it goes like this. This is for the top 25 eligible car owners as follows positions 1-10 get $500 and positions 11 thru 25th get $400 bucks pending all entry blanks are filed on time...

125's and the 125's are impound races, meaning minor adjustments can be made for example, stagger, plug in generators, tire pressures, install radio, driver drink bottle, and cooler

NOTE: You can check stagger but with no jacking of the car will be allowed

The 50 lap showdown will be as followed positions 1-24 will be filled by the top 12 finishers from the North Race and the South race.

Positions 25, 26, 27, 28 are available for the top 20 in car owner points from the North

Positions 29,30, 31,32 are available for top 20 car owner points from the South

and provisionals 33 and 34th will 1 from the North and 1 from the South

Positions 35 and 36 are Promoters Options
