ANY MODIFIED CAN RUN ON AUGUST 28TH!!!

That's right, N.E. Modified Series promoter, Mike Odwazny, has announced that ANY Modified can now run the N.E. Modified Series event at Mountain Speedway on August 28th. ROC and Tour Type Modifieds can now compete in the inaugural N.E. Modified Series event, against the finest Sport Modified drivers in the northeast. This is the first time that anyone has attempted to blend both the Tour type Modifieds, and Sport modifieds on common ground.

In an effort to level the playing field, the ROC/Tour Type Modifieds, or any dry sump Modified, must weigh 2700 lbs. before time trials and the feature. Additionally, they will be required to run a track issued restrictor plate under either the Holley 650 cfm (steel head), or the Holley 390 cfm (aluminum head) 4-barrel carburetor, to bring horsepower levels in line with the two barrel wet sump Sport Modifieds. All cars will be required to run a maximum 13 inch wide wheel, along with the Hoosier 1070 right side, and 1055 or 1070 left side tire. One change tire will be permitted during the 75 lap event.

This concept of blending all types of Modifieds together has certainly created a buzz amongst fans of Modified racing, and with the economy tightening the budgets of all race teams, it could help get more cars back on track.

The Brad Kline Memorial Street Stock Open 50 lap event, along with the INEX Legends will also be on the race card for the afternoon.
