(LEHIGHTON, PA 8-11-11) This coming Saturday night, August 13, Mahoning Valley Speedway will return to action with all five regular track classes of stock cars plus the intensely fast open cockpit stars of the ATQMRA.

The TQ Midgets will run a pair of 20-lap features while the Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods and Pro4 Late Models will all contest in normally scheduled main events.

The TQs continue to dazzle and amaze with their incredible speeds around the paved -mile oval.

Matt Roselli of Brodheadsville is the most recent winner in Mahoning TQ action after scoring the win on July 9 in the Len Duncan Memorial.

Averaging nearly 98-mph, Roselli scored the popular victory in just 3:11.831as the race went caution free.

Any win means something and this one means a little bit more, said Roselli whose family has a long history in Midget and TQ racing.

When the ATQMRA made a return to Lehightons Mahoning Valley Speedway last year after a five year absence it was an awe-inspiring show with a pair of twin-20s clicked off in a combined total of just over 6:00 minutes.

One of the drivers missing from last years blistering show was 24-year old Ryan Tidman of Levittown. Tidman won three times at the circular quarter mile in 2005 and also set a track record for the TQs during that time.

On Saturday night June 25 of this year Tidman returned behind the wheel of the Lenny and Donna Boyd owned Spitfire 1B and made up for his 2010 absence by simply running away with in a dominating performance.

Tidman once again regained the track record when he turned an 8.924-second lap at 100.852 mph during the feature which is the fastest lap ever recorded at Mahoning Valley.

That really means a lot. Since I had the record before and I wasnt able to run here last year when Paul Lotier set the new mark so this was a bit or redemption, said Tidman.

You just have to take it one corner at a time. The G-forces are incredible here with these cars. Once you get the car wound up its like a string with a rock on it and you just keep going and going around.

The TQs have been so fast that they have been averaging their Mahoning features in just over 3-minutes.

Grandstand gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing set to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Mahoning Valley Speedway, run under the direction of the husband and wife team of Doug and Gena Hoffman, is located on PA route 443, two miles west of Lehighton.
