(LEHIGHTON, PA 8-13-11) Mahoning Valley Speedway lost its second straight Saturday race night and sixth of the season due to rain. While pre-race practice was taking place and fans were filling into the stands, rain hit the Lehighton and surrounding area just prior to the 6:00 pm start time and never ceased.

All rain checks from the evening will be honored at face value for any remaining event this season and you must also show your issued wrist band that you received at the front gate.

The highlight of the night was twin 20-lap features for the ATQMRA TQ Midgets. They will return on September 13.

The focus now turns to this coming Saturday evening, August 20 for Hand 4 of the Modified 100 Poker Series as the fourth of five 100-lap, $3000-to-win features for the Modifieds takes place.

After the first three century runs Matt Hirschman is holding the best poker hand with three Queens. Tyler Haydt and Earl Paules each have a pair of Kings. John Bennett is next with a pair of 9’s. Also showing pairs are Terry Markovic, 7’s and Matt Higgins, 4’s.

Time trials will again be used to set the top dozen while heats will be utilized for all others.

Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro4 Late Models and Micro Stocks are also on the card.

On August 27 there will be a 35-lap ‘Wild Card’ feature for the Poker Series and coming up on Saturday, September 3 will be the 7th annual Labor Day Street Stock 100 paying $1000-to-win.

Grandstand gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
