I know it's not a tour show (and belongs in the local racing section) - but does anybody actually go to these open shows? anybody been going?

Thanks Jaws..

21 Mods huh?, on a Thursday night…

This makes me wonder…

• If there was no WMT, what would that car count look like?
• While the payout isn’t a tour type payout, I imagine it doesn’t cost nearly as much from an owner/team perspective – it’s all relative right?
• $20 at the front gate sure feels right
• If the racing was a far less superior product than a real tour show (of course were not counting all those value add things like time trials, outside driver into, autograph session, etc..)
• If other tracks in the region could put on similar open comp type shows – do you think that could even be possible? I’m thinkin’ yea, like Seekonk, Star, etc..
• If the winner (Stefanik) felt anything less then satisfaction by winning this event, this of course in comparison to say winning a WMT event
• If modified racing would really “die” if there was no WMT

Just wonderin’……

I think if every track went to doing Tour-Type shootouts it would be pretty cool...each track does 3 or 4 dates a season....For winning the 40 (GREEN FLAG LAPS) Race you win $2500, not sure how much they are spending in towing and tires and fuel....but I have enjoyed them and they put on an awesome show and the best part if you don't know who is showing up every time! Here were the results from last night!

Pos. Num. Driver Winnings
1 66 MIKE STEFANIK 2500
2 40 RYAN PREECE 1200
3 2X KEN BARRY 1000
4 76X THOMAS BOLLES 800
5 55 STEVEN* REED 700

I haven't missed any of these 40 lappers. I hope they continue. I also hope the tour continues, Alot of the cars that were here last night do not run the tour. This gives a chance for other guys to bring out their modifieds. Steven Reed came up from NJ. Timmy Solomito came up from Long Island. I wonder if the crowd would be bigger if they ran these open shows on Sundays.

if I remember,SK's run for $1200. to win. $125. to take the green.
tour type mods, $2500 to win. $250. to take the green.
tires cost the same.
fuel costs the same.
admissions cost the the same.
tour motors cost twice as much as an SK motor.
racecar & related parts cost about the same.

Riverside & Monadnock raced tour type mods & paid the same to win as Stafford, thompson,& Waterford SK's , $1200. to win.
