Hurricane Irene forces N.E. Mod Series Inaugural event cancellation
Due to Hurricane Irene's path of fury expected to impact the coastal regions of New Jersey and Long Island on Sunday, N.E. Modified Series Promoter, Mike Odwazny, has been forced to cancel the inaugural event scheduled for this Sunday, August 28, at Mountain Speedway in Saint Johns, Pennsylvania.
"With several race teams expected to attend from New Jersey and New York, our number one concern is for the safety of our racers, fans, and their families. We hope to reschedule with Mountain at a later date, but with Mountain suffering from several rain outs this season, it will be difficult to find a new date on their schedule. If need be, we will seek a new venue.", Odwazny stated.
The affordable Modified series has sparked much interest since its inception, and anticipation was high for this first event. The concept is to provide a Modified touring series that ANY Modified can compete in, without breaking the bank.
