Mountain Speedway to Host Modified Spectacular in Conjunction with Brad Kline Memorial on August 28

It was recently announced that the originally scheduled 75-lap N.E. Modified Series event at Mountain Speedway had been cancelled. Although that is the case, the management at Mountain Speedway will still have a Modified show under the same rules as the originally scheduled Modified show, with the exception that the event will be held under the Mountain Speedway Banner. In other words, the $1500 to win Modified Spectacular will take place on August 28.

First and foremost, the event on August 28th was and is designed to celebrate a fallen past speedway champion, Brad Kline. The 50-lap Brad Kline Street Stock Memorial should prove to be one of the biggest Street Stock races of the season and not because of the $1500 prize, but because of the fact that Kline would have been the first to sign up for this event if he was still among us and it was for someone else.

The concept of blending all types of Modifieds together was originated by the originally scheduled show and Mountain Speedway will cater to the original concept. The rules of the Modified Spectacular are simple.

In an effort to level the playing field, the ROC/Tour Type Modifieds, or any dry sump Modified, must weigh 2700 lbs. before time trials and the feature. Additionally, they will be required to run a track issued restrictor plate under either the Holley 650 cfm (steel head), or the Holley 390 cfm (aluminum head) 4-barrel carburetor, to bring horsepower levels in line with the two barrel wet sump Sport Modifieds. All cars will be required to run a maximum 13-inch wide wheel, along with the Hoosier 1070 right side, and 1055 or 1070 left side tire. One change tire will be permitted during the 75-lap event.

Cars entered as Sport Modifieds will fall under the rules for the division at www.mountainspeedway.com (http://www.mountainspeedway.com).

The tires will remain the same as the originally scheduled show and if weather becomes an issue for the event it will be rescheduled in September.

The INEX Legends will also be on the race card for the afternoon.

Grandstand admission for the afternoon is at the bargain price of just $10 for adults, with children 10 and under admitted FREE. Pit pass for the afternoon will be $35.
