St. Johns, PA- It seems like the second half of the racing season at Mountain Speedway has all been about beating the weather or rescheduling rained out events. Evidence of this is the Brad Kline Memorial Street Stock Shootout, which was initially slated for August 28. Due to Hurricane Irene, the show has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 18, and it will run in conjunction with the originally scheduled line up for the day, which consists of Sport Modifieds, Late Models, Factory Stocks and INEX Legends.

It’s been three years since Brad Kline, a two-time Mountain Speedway Street Stock champion passed away. His memory continues to live on through his family and friends, and also through the drivers that competed with track great. In memory of a true champion and for the third straight year, the Kline family has teamed up with Mountain Speedway to organized the running of the Third Annual Brad Kline Street Stock Memorial, which will now be held on Sunday, September 18.

Sponsored by the Crossroad’s Inn in Mountaintop and C&D Landscaping of Walnutport, this year’s event should have the largest payout to of the Kline Memorial races held thus far. Heat races will set the main event field and up to thirty cars will take the green flag. The winner of the 50-lap main event will pocket $1,500 and the bragging rights that Joe Barbush (2009 winner) and Chip Wanamaker (2010 winner) carry as former winners.

Laps are available for sponsorship at $10 each and the leader of the sponsored laps will receive the cash following post race inspection. Anyone interested in sponsoring laps can see Dean Kline at the Crossroad’s in, or Gene Ostrowski at the speedway.

Originally scheduled with the Brad Kline Memorial event was the “Modified Spectacular”. However, due to being rained out and since rescheduled, the Modified Spectacular has been removed from the program.

There will be a $20 registration fee for Street Stock drivers.

Grandstand admission for the afternoon is just $10 for ages 11 and older. Children 10 years of age and younger will be admitted for free.
