STOCK CARS AND MONSTER TRUCKS HEADLINE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY (SEPT. 10 & 11) AT WALL STADIUM
One of the biggest weekends of the season on the Wall Stadium Speedway schedule is set for this coming weekend (Sept. 10 & 11) as professional auto racing is set for Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. and Monster Truck racing and a stunt show is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
On Saturday night, the American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association will visit the third mile paved oval for a 25-lap main event, while the Blewett Recycling Sportsman cars, the INEX Legend Cars and the Street Stocks will also complete in 25-lap main events. In addition, several of the ladies at the track will participate in a “Powder Puff” event, Sunday Series go-karts will see action on the fifth mile paved “inner oval” and the restored vehicles of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will be on display.
Saturday night will also be special, as “Banner Night” festivities, where fans parade banners for their favorite drivers, will be highlighted. Fans are also urged to bring nonperishable food items to the track for victims of Hurricane Irene.
On Saturday, competitor pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m.; with regular practice starting at 5:00 p.m. Grandstand seating will also open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event will take the green flag at 7:00 p.m.
Then on Sunday, “Bigfoot” will lead a field of six Monster Trucks into competition. Along with Monster Truck racing, the event will also feature Hollywood stunts, motorcycle jumping and Monster Truck rides. An autograph session and Monster Truck rides will be offered starting at 1:00 p.m., before the main event begins at 3:00 p.m. A second ride and autograph session will follow the competition.
Monster Truck action will feature these famous vehicles in racing events including figure eight competitions. Along with “Bigfoot,” “Storm Damage,” “Viper,” “Rap Attack,” “Bad Habit” and “Hurricane Force” will all see action.
The Hollywood Stunt Show portion of the program should please fans of all ages. Famous professional stuntmen Crash Moreau and Lou “The Rocket” Ray will thrill fans with their talents and bravery, while World Record setting motorcycle jumper Doug Danger will also perform for the crowd.
Gates will open at high noon on September 11, while Monster Truck rides on the “Mopar One” Monster Truck and the autograph session will begin at 1:00 p.m. The main event, expected to last nearly two hours, will start at 3:00 p.m. and be followed by a second autograph and Monster Truck ride session.
