(LEHIGHTON, PA 9-13-11) This coming Saturday night at Mahoning Valley Speedway it will be a test of skill and agility when the blazingly fast American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association TQ Midgets take to the paved Lehighton speedway for a pair of twin 20-lap features.

The TQ’s have been officially timed as the fastest race cars to ever circle the quarter mile Mahoning Valley track. Evidence came on June 25 of this year when Ryan Tidman turned a lap at 8.924-second which equates to just over 100-mph in a race he went on to win in a time of just over three minutes.

Matt Roselli won the most recent Mahoning TQ race on July 9 which was the prestigious Len Duncan Memorial.

Matt Janisch heads the TQ point standings going into Saturday night’s twin bill. He has one career win at Mahoning which came last season.

Also on the card will be Mahoning’s regular classes. Modifieds, Late Models, Street stocks, Dirt Modifieds and Pro4 Late Models.

With just three point races remaining the next few weeks will be crucial for all title contenders. At the present time Tyler Haydt sits atop the Modified rankings, Austin Kochenash in the Late Models, TJ Gursky, Street Stocks, Kris Graver with the Dirt Modifieds and Barry Christman, Jr., in the Pro4 Late Models.

Pits and grandstand gates open at 4:00 pm with racing set to begin at 6:00 pm.

Mahoning Valley Speedway, run under the direction of the husband and wife team of Doug and Gena Hoffman, is located on PA route 443, two miles west of Lehighton.
