NASCAR WHELEN SOUTHERN MODIFIED TOUR NO. 36 DRIVER PENALIZED
FOR RULES VIOLATIONS AT THOMPSON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

NASCAR announced today the driver of the No. 36 team that competes in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour has been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Sunday, Sept. 11, at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway.

The driver was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing. Verbal abuse of NASCAR Officials. Making inappropriate contact with a NASCAR Official. Use of inappropriate language.) of the 2011 NASCAR rule book. The violations occurred following the race on Sept. 11.

Driver of car No. 36, L.W. Miller, has been fined $500, suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2011.
