St. Johns, Pa- In conjunction with the 3rd annual Brad Kline Street Stock Memorial Shootout, five other divisions helped set the stage for a great day of racing on Sunday at Mountain Speedway. While driving one of Kline’s racecars, Joe Hoffman looked like he was well on to victory until Elliot Wohl of Jackson, NJ, grabbed the race lead following a late race restart with seven laps remaining and took the victory. Todd Geist of Lehighton, PA held off several charges from his competition to score his first career Sport Modified victory and Travis Fisher of Fern Glen, PA could not be denied his first Late Model victory of the season. Rich Paciotti of Kunkletown, PA visited victory lane for the third time this season in the Factory Stock division and Matt Papa drover to his fourth straight INEX Legends win. Alex McCollum took top honors for the second straight week in the Bandolero division.

Prior to the start of the Brad Kline Memorial event, Larry Spencer, Bob Kupsho and Joe Callavini presented Dean and Brenda Kline with gifts to thank the Kline family for supporting the speedway under three different promoters over the years.

With plenty of lap money for the leaders, along with $1500 to the winner, the 50-lap Brad Kline Street Stock Memorial Shootout was bound to be one of the better races of the season. The event, which was sponsored by C&D landscaping, The Crossroads Inn and Happy Trail truck Sales, was not a regular points paying show, which added even more excitement.

Following an eight-car invert for the start, Alan Schlenker led the field to the drop of the green flag and quickly lost the lead to Joe Hoffman. Hoffman continued to lead on the second lap over Steve Clark and Josh Mooney.

Elliott Wohl used the inside line to move past Schlenker and Justin Mooney to grab the fourth spot on lap three and then Steve Shultz overtook Justin Mooney for fifth eight circuits later.

In honor of Kline, a competition caution was thrown on lap 23. Hoffman continued to lead over Clark, Wohl, Shultz and Josh Mooney.

Green flag racing resumed and Wohl didn’t waste any time, as he got by Clark for second. The duo toured the track and Wohl didn’t make a move to take the lead. That was, until the yellow flag waved when Ron Frees got into Brian Wozniak with only seven laps remaining.

The double file restart put Wohl in good shape for the restart and he grabbed the top spot form Hoffman. Shultz followed through to take the second spot a lap later and then another caution flew with five laps remaining when Clark spun in three and four.

Wohl was flawless over the closing laps and took the victory over Shultz. Chip Wanamaker made a late race charge to finish third, followed by Justin Mooney and Hoffman.

Heat race victories went to Chip Wanamaker, Elliott Wohl and Justin Mooney.

Todd Geist started from the pole and led the opening circuit of the 40-lap Sport Modified feature over Chip Wanamaker, Nick Pecko, Barry Callavini and Jason Hearne.

Dave Brigati cracked the top five when he got by Hearne on the second lap. He then overtook Callavini for the fourth spot on lap eight before cruising by Pecko for third on the following go around. Two more laps later he grabbed the runner up spot from Wanamaker.

With the Geist close in sight, Brigati tried high and low with hopes of getting around the leader. In doing so and with a gallant effort on the backstretch, Brigati tried once more. The end result was a spin to the infield and Geist still had control of the race. Wanamaker lined back up in second for the restart, followed by Callavini, Pecko and Pat Verwys.

Green flag racing resumed and Scott Adams moved to fifth. With nine laps remaining, Adams battled with Wanamaker and Brigati. The trio went three wide in turns three and four and then Wanamaker spun.

With the final green in the air, Geist held his own and edged Brigati for the victory. Callavini, Hearne and Pecko completed the top five.

Heat race victories went to Dave Brigati and Todd Geist.

Francis Gross III Started from the pole and led the opening circuit of the 30-lap Late Model feature over Travis Fisher, Joe Burns, Craig Lutz and Glen Slocum.

Fisher ducked to the inside and took the race lead in the early going. Meanwhile, Dave Macomber moved into the fifth spot.

With Fisher still in command, Lutz got by Burns and Gross to take second on lap nine and eight laps later Austin Kochenash took third from gross.

With a nice margin back to second, Fisher took the checkers for his first win of the season at the speedway. Lutz settled for second, followed by Kochenash, Gross and Kevin Metzger.

Craig Lutz and Joe Burns were heat race victors.

From the pole position, Joe Barbush led the factory stock field to the green flag in the 20-lap event. Rich Paciotti took the race lead before a lap was complete and Matt Schlenker slipped into second.

Joey Helburg grabbed the runner up spot from Schlenker on lap five and then tried to reel in Paciotti. Paul Morgan, Jr. held the fourth spot, followed by Brandon Oltra.

With Paciotti still in command over the closing laps, the battle on the track was for the fourth spot, between Morgan and Chris Parry, who raced side-by-side, lap after lap.

Paciotti took the victory, which was his third of the season. Helburg ended up finishing second, followed by Schlenker, Parry and Morgan.

Keith Frankenfield and Joey Helburg were heat race winners.

Carl Jones started from the pole and was quickly overtaken by Andrew Stotler before a lap was scored in the 25-lap INEX Legends feature.

With Stotler still in command on lap three, Scott Hubler made a three-wide pass stick and moved into the second spot. However, Hubler was forced to forfeit his position when he and Richie Coy tangled in turns one and two on the following lap.

With only four laps in the books, Matt Papa, who started back in fourteenth, sat in the third position for the restart.

Green flag racing resumed and Papa stormed into the lead. He drove away from the field over the closing laps to take his fourth straight victory of the season over Todd McCollum, Coy, Hubler and Stotler.

Heat race victories went to Matt papa, Todd McCollum and Scott Hubler.
