Wall Stadium Speedway will bring down the curtain on the regular stock car racing season this Saturday night (9-24-2011) with spectator seating opening at 5:00 p.m. and racing starting at 7:00 p.m. The third mile paved oval will then take a few weeks off to prepare for the first ever “Halloween Spooky Spectacular” stock car racing program set for October 22. The track will then close out the year with the Thanksgiving weekend “Turkey Derby XXXVIII” on November 25 and 26.

Modified point leader Anthony Sesely of Matawan is hoping to not only win the 40-lap Modified main event on Saturday night, but also to nail down his first ever driving title at the oval. Sesely’s challengers will include defending champion Chas Okerson of Freehold, Tim Arre of Toms River, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls and Chris Hamilton of North Haledon, just to name a few.

In addition to Modified racing, the Blewett Recycling Sportsman cars, the Street Stocks, the INEX Legend Cars and the Sanzari/Shinn Factory Stocks will all compete in 25-lap main events and crown 2011 regular season driving champions. Going into Saturday’s finale, Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck is the Sportsman point leader, while Jackson’s Howie Conk heads the Street Stocks. Trevor Alspach of Willingboro paces the Legend Cars standings, while Shannon Mongeau of Bradley Beach is the top Factory Stock driver.

Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday; with a special paid practice being offered from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m. Regular practice will then start at 5:00 p.m. and grandstand seating will also open at 5:00 p.m. The first qualifying event will take the green flag at 7:00 p.m.
