To use a common point system throughout their divisions?
Does New Hampshire, Riverhead and Thompson start the same number of cars?
Then again, you know that...
Great idea on NASCAR's part, my opinion, to have ALL divisions, upper tier and touring series align with same point system.

I don't think so. It looks like the points just stop after what ever amount of car are there. 43 for the winner (plus bonuses), it looks like 28th (last) at Riverhead would get 16 points (plus any bonus points they may earn).

From the release, "Race winners earn 43 points, plus three bonus points for the win. Drivers also can earn an extra point for leading a lap and leading the most laps, bringing the race-winning total to a possible maximum of 48 points.

All other drivers in a finishing order are separated by one-point increments. A second-place finisher earns 42 points, a third-place driver 41 points, and so on."

it just stops now, they would have to start 54 cars to get down to 1 point under the current system.
