Hey, borrow big daddy's whole distributor set up cap, dist.,wires,etc. everything. drop it in, see what happens. If it works, go get a dist. at advanced auto stock replacement.

if its old points style--throw it away.... get yourself a HEI unit and see what happens, I have one you can use if needed

I disagree Madawg. I personally throw out the HEI. Points are more reliable. With points it is easy to trace where you have voltage and where it stops.
No spark man. Perhaps you need a repair manual that can help you trouble shoot your race car. Then next time a problem shows up you will repair the car with ease. phil

Don't listen to'em Joe! The last time Philter lost ignition he rubbed two sticks together to try and get it back............................
His idea of a late model ignition system uses two pieces of flint.................................
The GM HEI is probably the most dependable, self-contained, stock ignition system ever designed.........................;)

[QUOTE=richardpetey The last time Philter lost ignition ) he threw out the HEI ,installed points and years later it still works EVERY time. I do admit HEI has more voltage at the spark plug. phil

Come on Mr. Philter, the only reason you used pts./ is because you were too cheap to buy an ignition module for your old HEI......................................:rolleyes :
You probably had that old GM point/condensor distributor from that 1939 pontiac motor on your pre-civil war engine stand....................
I love ya buddy but you don't have mechanics work'en on your enduro you have archaeologists...........................:(
