I got a letter today from thompson speedway. they have a new program for the super late models. short schedule- just 6 races for now(if the car counts are good they would add more). but a huge purse increase- $2500 to win each event, $1000 for 2nd, $850 3rd, $750 4th $600 5th...all the way back to 11th can pay for their tires for the week. it sucks to have less shows, but it should help the car count for the shows they do run. nice to see a track give some incentive for teams to come race.

definitely worth the road trip. Might have to alter our plans a bit for 2012

See their plan is already working.

Ive also heard from some people at Thompson that if the car counts for these 6 shows isnt good, the Super Late Models wont be back in 2013. So if you enjoy running there make sure you get to a few of these shows to help keep their division alive.

Awesome track, very fair, and a purse that will actually give you a profit if you win!

They appear to be 50 lap races, mostly on Thursdays. (Beginning and end of year being the exceptions.)

How close are the rules for the Riverhead Late Model guys? Close enough to make the trip worthwhile?

the rules are very close, the only thing they have that we dont are 4 piston calipers. they allow 1.5 inch wider treadwidth, total weight is 175 lb lighter, left side percentage is 56 instead of our 58%, and the biggest thing you have to change is the intake- they make u run a 7101
