LIGHTING FAST CHAMP KARTS READY TO ATTACK A.C. BOARDWALK HALL; ENTRIES AT 41; ROSTERS SWELL IN ALL CLASSES

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (December 21, 2011) - Among the four classes of competition scheduled to compete in the Indoor Races at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, the blindingly fast Champ Karts require the most precise driving skills.
The 10th edition of the event under the direction of Len Sammons and staff is planned for Friday and Saturday nights Feb. 3-4, 2012. TQ (three quarter) Midgets, dirt 600cc Micro-Sprints and Slingshots join the nimble Champ Karts in competition.
Chris Daley and Norman Hynes, two past winners who have mastered the delicate touch needed to succeed in this game-of-inches and are among the heavy favorites to win again.
Daley, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., won the 2008 running of the Champ Kart Indoor Race and was a near winner of the 2006 and 2009 races.
Hynes of Lithium, Md., is the defending champion of the lightning fast event. Like Daley, he had other opportunities to win in previous years.
Hynes pumped his fists vigorously when he crossed the finish line under the checkered flag, calling the Boardwalk Hall victory “among my biggest”.
Forty-one Champ Kart teams have pre-registered for the event, joining nearly seventy TQ teams, thirty dirt 600cc Micro Sprint teams and twenty Slingshots.
That number is expected to grow steadily with five weeks remaining prior to race time with 200 teams expected to be vying for starting berths in the four feature races.
Champ Kart drivers entered hail from eleven different states as distant as Maine (1 entry) and North Carolina (2 entries).
Pennsylvania and New Jersey lead all other states with eight drivers each while Massachusetts has seven, New York six, and Connecticut five.
Rhode Island, Virginia, Maryland and New Hampshire have one driver each in the field.
Champ Kart drivers will need to earn starting spots in the 25-lap main event through time trials (the top fifteen lock in to the feature), A series of heat races and B-mains will generate the remaining nine starters to form a twenty-four kart field.
Racers wishing to enter any of the divisions competing in Atlantic City may find entry and rule information available at aarn.com.
