Looking for some suggestions. Last year we had an overheating problems all season. We changed the fans so I can turn them on & off manually but still had the problem. I cooked the motor in the last race. We have a new motor & new radiator for this year. We had a thermostat in last year. Some suggestions are to not run a thermostat or take the guts out of the thermostat & make it a dummy thermostat. Any suggestions on how thermostat/keep from overheating?

:)I had the overheating problem with my 2.2 Cavalier untill I put in a new radiator. I think there are two available and I went for the thicker one. As far as the thermostat goes, you need to slow down the water flow so it has time to transfer the heat. I gutted mine and havn't had a problem since. Of course, all bets are off if you let the mud build up from race to race. You have to get it real clean every time.

2 other areas to check are worn water pump (impeller wear) and lower radiator hose collapsing.
