Encouraged by the recent mild weather, the staff and management of Wall Stadium Speedway is busy planning for the fast approaching warmer months and for the 2012 professional stock car racing season. An ambitious schedule of Saturday night stock car racing has been finalized with an opening night of April 28. Three pre-season practice dates have been sat for April 7, 14 and 21 with on-track testing to run from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The facility will also be open from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. so that new and rebuilt racecars can be inspected and for tire purchases. The speedway office is open during business hours Monday through Thursday for competitor and pit crew licenses, although a telephone call before a visit is advised.
Current plans call for Saturday evening stock car racing events to run until the end of September featuring Wall Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock, Factory Stock and Legend Cars divisions. Each of these “regular divisions” will have a few Saturday nights off during the regular season. Post season stock car events, the October 27 “Spooky Spectacular” and the Thanksgiving weekend “Turkey Derby,” are also being planned.
After a first successful season, the husband and wife management team of Chief of Operations Cliff Krause and Office Manager Diane Krause inked a lease to keep Wall Stadium operating for at least three more campaigns starting this season.
